Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday dear Daniel, Happy birthday to me!
2 weeks ago since the fantastic South Island tour, and I am back into my ordinary routines - almost. School is pretty relaxed, and soon it is over and giving way to study leave, rapidly followed by summer holidays. Last week me and Laurin started targeting practice wit ha .22 caliber rifle, something we both find very enjoyable, and we have also shot a few rabbits. Last friday was my birthday, a day I won't forget anytime soon. At school a lot of my friends gave me cookies, and we spent lunch break down on the field eating a massive cake they had baked for me, accompanied by a "Happy Birthday" tune.
Saturday I went to a party to celebrate, and met lot's of new people and made many new friends - it was really fun.
Yesterday we went swimming in the Hamurana Springs, the same springs all our water comes from. It was very cold, but lot's of fun - and I got a few chinese coins out of the actual spring, which also serves as a wishing well for tourists - it was hard to get tho, as it is a very deep (15 meters) nearly vertical shaft with a strong upwards current. Luckily no dive is too difficult for an avid swimmer and free diver like myself :)
Looking forwards, tomorrow Laurin and I are going to stay with our IEC (International Exchange Coordination) for a few days while Alan and Carol are in Christchurch - most students have said it is pretty boring staying with her but I am sure it will be just fine :)
That's all for this time :D

Brian Happy Birthday my dear boy - once again :) Its good to hear that your friends and family gave you an unforgettable day! I have seen on FB that Laurin is becoming quite a marksman and doing pest control around the area. Do you shoot well too? Sounds nice and a little scary with the diving in the springs, cold and deep, but rewarding. Have fun at the IEC's place! Cheers, Brian
