Tumbaco was great, had a really good time and got a nice break from Quito. We went horseriding and drank wine, cooked, listened to music and just generally hung out together. Everything I need to relax! It was just what I needed .
Not been up to much this week, the guy staying with us cooked a beautiful Thai soup the other night and last night I went to salsa class with him and then he played his guitar for us and we tried to sing Joni Mitchell songs - badly. Plus the song that is in Talk To Her (Cucurucucu Paloma) that that Mexican guy sings. It´s very very depressing! It´s about a guy who cries in the night for his lost love who cheated on him and the neighbours pretend it´s a bird singing so that the other people dont laugh at him. Then he dies of "pasion mortal" still waiting for him woman to come back. Possibly the most depressing song ever.
Off to the jungle this very night! So my address with be 12 Yemen Road, Yemen for the next 8 days. It´s the Cuyabeno reserve if that means anything.... so hope that all goes to plan. We are not going til 11.30 so still have lots of time to get ready. Though I really dont think I´ve thought this trip through at all! Hmmm, no creature comforts for a week, greeeat.... No really, it will be. The rain is up so the possibility of pink dolphins is strong! And monkeys and spiders and leeches, why oh why did I not a`ppreciate the possibility of leeches in my socks? And mossie and and and........
Will take lots of pictures and will try not to let any shamans cast out my demons.
No paper aeroplanes but one stolen rubber and 2 tshirts purchased for $1 so that´s my bargain of the week. Including a Brazil football tee for a 3rd grader! Bit tight.... Elishia you can have it.
