DAY THREE
Today is Sunday and our last day in Ireland. A very, very sad day indeed. We again started our day again with the yummiest breakfast!! (I had to mention this again, cause the scrambled eggs were just the best!)
We were supposed to go straight back to Dublin, but on the spur of the moment decided to take a detour via Bray. Bray is also a little coastal dorpie and stunning!! After leaving our luggage at a hotel (I had to flash my prettiest smile to the misreable old hag who wasn't too happy that we leave our bags there...*roll eyes*) we went to a coffee shop right on the beach and had a nice Latte. Afterwards we took an amazing walk up a hill - Di carried on walking while I found a little spot to sit/lie down. It was just so peaceful sitting on the grass listening to my ipod, watching the sea, feeling the wind in my hair and making a daisy chain... a-ma-zing!
When Di came back she managed to convince me to walk a bit further with her and, Murphy's Law, as we're a million miles away from the nearest toilet, both of us needed to go, so we took a detour off the road and up in the bushes. In our little bundu-bashing excursion we found this amazing little spot high up the mountain with the best view of the sea!! We ended up sitting there for quite a few hours and just spoke and spoke and spoke and ate lots and lots of chocolate. When we finally emerged back into civilization and got on the bus back to Dublin it felt like I just woke up from a dream and the only way to get transported back to the land far-far away with the beautiful trees and rocks and yellow flowers, was to find a very scarce white horse with wings ... close my eyes...and fly ...
We both felt so at peace and serene and just kept on saying "Schweet man...this is just so cool man...so like, shuwaa man" (picture: hippy-that-just-smoked-a-serious-joint-accent. We're just not hippies, nor did we smoke a joint, so we got a couple of weird stares. *thinking* No actually, maybe people were just staring at Di's black-and-white-striped socks. Haha!!).
At this point I have to mention that we didn't book accommodation for the Sunday night, so upon arrival back in Dublin we missioned to find a place to stay. We then went to The Brazen Head - the oldest pub in Dublin - just to go have a look. We didn't actually have a drink there, as it was very late and the kitchen was closed and we still wanted to have dinner. So we ended up at a nice little restaurant with live music, good wine and delish calamari. Afterwards we went to a cozy pub and just spent the evening dancing and having fun!
Of course it wasn't fun after getting into bed at 2:30 and having to get up at 4:00 to catch the plane on Monday morning. Oh, and did I mention that we both needed to go to work on the Monday? Lets just say it was a loooooong day. (I ended up getting home at 18:00 and got straight into bed, woke up at about 22:00 and had a conversation with Marcos which I only vaguely recall - hehe! - just to fall straight back into a deep sleep and waking up at 7:30 the next day!!).
