DAY TWO
When you wake up in the morning to the smell of bacon, eggs and toast... you just know its gonna be a good day! (Di and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast(s)!). We started our day with a very picturesque ride back to Dublin and feeling very envious of all the lucky b@st@rds that get to live there!!
First we went to Kilmainham Gaol (pronounced "jail".. another blonde moment in my life) but unfortunately couldn't do the proper tour, as we didn't really have the time. We went through the museum tho which was quite a morbid and sad experience and really dampened my spirits (but that didn't last long cause we stumbled across a 2Euro-Store and completely splashed out on chocolates, chips and sweets which - of course - made my day). After that we stopped by St Peter's Cathedral, which was really beautiful (or maybe in all honesty, just looked like every other cathedral I've seen...still beautiful tho...).
Then we arrived at ... *ta-tararaaaa*... The Guinness Factory!! The tour was really worth it and after finding out some interesting facts about beer I promised myself that I will finish my Guinness at the end of the tour (Apparently they ONLY use the best hops and barley...mmm... or was that hobs and parsley??!), but I just couldn't get myself to drink past the top row of the "G" on the glass!! I dunno how people can drink beer, its just revolting! (Sorry Phil, but if you were there I would've given my beer to you ;-) !!).
After that we traveled about an hour north of Dublin to go to Malahide Castle, so we once again went on an amazing bus ride through the countryside! Malahide Castle really is exquisite and its unreal to think that some people actually lived there hundreds-and-hundreds of years ago! The last Malahide family member is actually still alive. She's 90 and lives in Tanzania or Tasmania or somewhere. (I was only half-listening as I always do). Saturday night we went for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe which I loved as the food was gooood and the vibe was great! We luckily did manage to catch the last bus (23:25) back to Enniskerry!!
