We had another great day exploring more of the sights in New York today. We started off with breakfast in a cafe near the apartment before taking a walk up to the Natural History Museum. We must have got there at the right time because as we were leaving the queue was so long that it wound round the side of the building!
After checking out some of the sights in the museum, we had a nice wander through Central Park and had a great panoramic view from the Belvedere Castle. We strolled down Madison Ave. and 5th Ave. mesmerised by all the designer stores. We saw the old Plaza Hotel from Home Alone 2 and visited the toy store FAO Schwarz, including the Big Piano from Big. They also had a Barbie foosball table for $24,999, I want one!!!!
After that, we took the subway down to the Meat-packing District and had a great view across to Jersey. We walked along the High Line Park which has been built on an old elevated railway line through the meat packing district and Chelsea. We then stopped for a much needed rest in the Chelsea Market and had tasty cupcakes and tea and coffee. The Market had so many bakeries and restaurants which all looked amazing. We will need to go back sometime to try them all!!
We met Kevin at the Market and headed across town to the Lower East Side where we met his sister Jennifer for dinner at a Japanese Ramen restaurant, before going for a couple of beers in a Scottish bar before heading home.
