Another nice easy start to the day today - it's nice and cool, so we walked to the Stockman's Hall of Fame mid-morning and actually spent about 3 hours there - there were 5 galleries - Discovery; Pioneers; Outback Properties; Royal Flying Doctors; Stock Workers. Each gallery had artifacts, videos, etc to look at or listen to and it was really interactive and interesting.
On the walk back, we ventured into QANTAS Founder's Museum where we spent about 90 minutes checking out the museum again - Mum & Renee particularly enjoyed the audio/videos explaining the timeline of Qantas, and it included many of the TV advertisements of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. Dad enjoyed reading about the journey of the founders, and Eamon loved the flight simulator and the machine guns on the back of the plane!!
After some down time in the afternoon, we drove out to the Thomson River - the river height today was negative 1.2m, but it can get as high as positive 3m so it's amazing to think how much water does fall in this area at times. We then drove towards Lily Lagoon/Starlight's Lookout, but due to the rain over the last 48 hours, the dirt road was quite soft so we thought better of it, and headed back to camp. Mum & Renee went for a quick 4km run into town and back, then Renee & Eamon had a nice dip in the pool. There are about 20 groups here tonight which is nice to see - quite a few families too.
