Nice lazy day today - eventually we ventured out to the QANTAS Founders Museum for the 1.30pm tour - it was actually a great 90 minutes with our guide telling us the most detailed information about a plane you can imagine. The Boeing 747 "City of Bunbury" was donated to the town in 2002 and our guide explained all the components on the outside and the inside - an amazing insight to an aeroplane that most of us have been in. We had a tour of the economy class, business class, upstairs, cockpit and detail about the landing gear, tyres, communications etc.
We also had a tour of the 707 from the mid 1900's - an A1 fitted out aircraft with gold fittings, a 'party room', double bed, ensuite - quite amazing really. The third plane we saw was a DC3 which was a very popular WW2 cargo/transport/passenger plane.
We spent some time in the museum watching a video and checking out the many displays including the original Qantas hangar, but will come back again tomorrow as we have a 24 hour passout.
Mum & Renee enjoyed a 5km run along the Botanical Walkway this afternoon, somehow missing the rain that pelted down just as they returned - the rain over the last few days has been the best in the last 3 years.
