Well today marks the end of my last full week in new zealand before i head off to india to turn that country on its side! ha we'll see, i've got big plans i geuss! another week has come and gone in the new zealand diaries! its amazing how fast time flies here... but now its india mode... i'm so excited for the adventure that lies ahead! last week our speaker wasn't able to come until wednesday so we had a few fill-ins at first which got the week off to an interesting start but our speaker that came was really interesting and had some great encouragement for us which was great! the highlight of the week was the "end of lecture phase party", it was awesome! soooo this is a little morbid but we had a pet sheep that kind of was on our base and soooo for our end of the year party we had him knocked off to feed us, but "charlie" (aka charles!) tasted realllll good so it was awesome... to make it all better we cooked the food in the traditional maori way called a 'hangi' which is similar to a 'luao', you basically start a huge fire that heats up these rocks (or steel in our case) then you burry the food underground with the hot steal and it steam cooks for about 2-3 hours.... so thats what we did with charlie and some potatoes and kumura and other sorts of stuff! it was awesome... later that night we set off fireworks and had a humungous fire... some of guys were bummed that we didn't celebrate Guy Fouks Day correctly so we built an accurate representation Guy and set him on top of our bonfire and watched him burn... Guy was the guy (ha) who tried to burn down British parliament on the 5th of November (remember, remember the 5th of november)... so each year those in the Commonwealth burn down Guy Fouks to remember, so we thought we would take part! the next day we went to our favorite speakers house (abby and sal, the lady from louisiana) and hung out with them and their kids all day! her son Kabod and I are best friends, no joke... we're best pals! we hung out at the beach and had a BBQ of good ol american cajun food! it was amazing! All the girls slept over at their house so the guys had reign of the base which was amazing! and we had a good time! this week we're pretty much just preparing for outreach in India! i'm so excited, we have a good group and i think we'll have a great trip! well bethel totally dominated concordia wisconsin today! which is awesome! go BU, kill UWEC... well i'm watching Italian Job right now with a bunch of guys so i should probably get outta here! hope all is well back in the good ol USA... I don't know how much i'll be able to write and keep in touch while i'm in India, but my next blog post will be from India, i hope you're all excited! alright goodbye for now... korey
