Last day of Our Galapagos adventure, and early start again as we visit the Mangrove areas for a Panga cruise to see sharks, turtles, rays and birds.
We did see quite a few White Tip sharks, mostly young ones as this is where the mothers would come to give birth. Also saw a large stingray and some Sea Turtles.
Highlight was the flock of Blue Footed Boobies feeding. Very rare to see this many Boobies feeding like this and is something you might see on an Attenborough
100's of them would circle around and around like a hurricane, until a dominant male would give a loud whistle, which was the signal for them all to attack at once. They would then dive like arrows into the water to get the fish, they did this over and over, only metres from our boat, sometimes passing only a metre above us. Amazing experience.
Left the boat and said goodbye to our group who consisted of 15, including Slovakians, Swiss, Spanish and Dutch. We were the only ones who couldn't speak multiple languages, quite inadequate.
Flight back to Quito today. Greeted with hail, thunder, lightening, altitude sickness and a cold. Went to a British pub for dinner around the corner. Good burger and pint.
