Lush Life
Hey everyone.
I've been sooo busy since emailing last Friday. Well, remember I said that me and Nadia where going to an open air cinema...well, we did exactly that and decided that we make a proper occassion of it, and get a posh packed lunch and all kinds. We mentioned to Liv that we were making a picnic, and being some kind of picnic queen, she started pulling out all these picnic implements like some kind of magician. She had this picnic bag, which contained everything from plates, to salt and pepper, and even a cheese board and knife! Then she was giving us ice packs and blankets, and these funky metal things that you stick into the ground to hold your wine glass, and she even had plastic champagne flutes!
Me and Nadia couldn't hold in our excitement, and ended up buying bottled wine, rather than boxed goon, as we decided we needed to be as posh as our accessories! And we skipped off to woolies to get food (wraps, salad, beetroot, grapes, cheese, that kind of thing)...the posh kind!
And then armed with a car load of picnic paraphernalia, we jumped on the bus (at rush hour, so it was all a bit cramped) and headed to Centennial park for the cinema.
While waiting in the queue this guy with dog chews attached to him (photo enclosed) was giving out these doggie snacks and all these kids were like running up to him asking for some, so i thought that maybe they ate these things over here, and when he got to us, i asked if i could try one! He looked at me like i was from space, and Nadia wet herself laughing, informing me that you cant eat them, and that they're being given away for people to take home for their dogs! Oooops!
When we got into the cinema bit, we had an hour to unpack and eat and drink and be all posh, and then we watched the sun set over the city, and once it was dark the film started. We saw Harry Potter, which was all very dramatic, sat in the middle of the wilderness, with fox bats flying around our heads.
After the film (and a few bottles of wine) we decided we weren't ready to go home and got in touch with Nadia's friends who live at Bondi, and headed over to the beach to hang out with them. We ended up getting some more wine and then crashing at their places, which is full of cockroaches! I had to swipe them off me a few times through the night, when i was conscious enough to feel them crawling up my leg! Nice!
The morning after me and Nad's had to get a bus home quite hastily, as her contacts had dried out and she was having trouble opening her eyes (haha), and so we collected our picnic bags up and headed home.
But.....when we got back, we opened it all up to empty it out, and all these cockroaches ran out like a plague of lotust's. Naturally we crapped it, and ran round for about 3 minutes screaming, then had to get the bug spray out and zap them all, and to makes things slightly worse, the beetroot had leaked all over the white interior of Olivia's prized picnic possession, so we had to leg it to woolies again to buy some vanish to try to clean it up. We manged it (infact it came up cleaner than it was originally) but having transported about 50 cockroaches into the house we couldn't be too chuffed with ourselves.
Saturday day was spent in bed recovering from the cockroaches (and alcohol), then saturday night we went on a posh night out at Darling Harbour. So chic...apart from Nad who was very very drunk! haha
Sunday I went to watch the end of the Chinese New Year celebrations at Darling Harbour, then went to Coogee beach to catch up with my friend Caroline, who goes to Leeds uni (but who i met years ago at camp), as she was passing through Sydney. We spent the day sunbathing, and then had a bbq. It was all a bit posh, like the picnic. We had snapper, and king prawns, and kangaroo! Sorry skippy, but you tasted so good! Then from there we went clubbing. But by this stage me and Caroline had drunk a bit too much goon (nasty boxed wine) and i ended up being sick (classy) and bumping into Nic (Nadia's friend from Bondi) who thought it was all very funny, and who had to escort me home cos i got on the wrong bus! haha
Made it home though, but then discovered i'd lost my camera in the process. This was like one of the biggest drama's of my life, as that camera means everything to me. Phoned caz and the club and everywhere having a heart attack, only to discover i'd left it on caroline's coffee table! haha
Monday i spent the day recovering...big time, and then we had a little dinner party, as Nad's made us lasagne and garlic bread. It was all dead nice.
And today i have a job to go to, so i'm off there in a mo. Its at a child daycare centre. All good fun. And tonight we're off to the Opera House to see the valentines day fireworks over the quay. Its all go, go, go in my life, but i'm loving evey minute!
Speak to you all soon. Love you xxx
