saturday 26th - decided to go to Manly today, picked a good day to go there was not a cloud in the sky so were dead happy. got the ferry over took about half an hour was fairly choppy though we were rocking so bad the horizons were totally dissapearing on the side that was up.
Went for a wander around the shops and then headed to the beach which was so pretty, the waves were huge and the rips were real bad so no swimming at all but we werent that bothered. got lunch then a huge icecream covered in choc sauce and sprinkles and choc drops which made us both so ill it was that big.
went back to the beach which was pretty crammed by now, fell asleep and woke to find two oldish men lyying inches from me i was like woah could you get any closer?? i know the beach was busy but jesus need a bit of personal space.
felt like we were on an island since we got the ferry but its just part of the mainland but god it was good to get out the city for the day, its not as bad as new york but the buildings are high and everyone is busy busy and its pretty crowded sometimes which stresses me out. i had a tantrum at this woman the other day cos she was barging into my back to get past, i deliberatly didnt let her past for quite a while but she was annoying me so much i just shouted - for god sake, get in front!
caught the ferry back and stopped to get some food then came back showered, made our tea then went to bed.
sunday 27th - woke up pretty early and went on a wander through Chinatown, which stunk and was a right dive, to Paddy's Markets which is the largest market hall ever with stalls selling everything you could possibly need, got myself some fake designer sunglasses for 10 dollars since pair number 6 broke yesterday grrrr. cant believe how many pairs have just become brittle and broke with the heat. Guess what though, my 1 pound pair from matalan are still going strong which is just amazing dont you reckon!!!
had a walk into Darling Harbour and did a bit more shopping, then went to the IMAX cinema, for those not in the know this is a huge 80 ft screen which shows films in 3D so everything looks like its right in front of you!!
had lunch then met up with Chris the guy who we did the training ranch with back in october then we just wandered round sydney and sat by the harbour for a bit.
had tea in the Scary Canary - a lovely piece of steak then we just sat and caught up for a bit and went to bed.
monday 28th - arose bright and early and made our way to the harbour bridge. suited, booted and looking fine?! we started our climb of the bridge. wasnt as scared as i thought i was gunna be but the vertical ladders between the 8 lane motorway was a bit hairy. we had a massive group scream at the top then some pictures and then came down the other side. going down was a lot more fun as the wind had picked up and it was pretty strong. we starfished against the wind and leant forward, almost felt like skydiving again. was loadsa fun and i got some good photos.
met up with chris again and had some lunch and a hot chocolate in the Ship Inn by the Harbour, then we decided to go on the monorail for a circuit of the city and to warm up. only cost 4 dollars but we still thought we'd get our moneys worth and so we went round 5 or 6 times!! went to the cinema also, saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty funny then we came back to the hostel showered then went out for some drinks and ended up in Scruffy Murphys, which was a bit scruffy and stunck of wee but was the only place to be on a monday apparently!
tueday 29th - went to Bondi today was sunny but freezing and blowing a gale again, it wasnt as big as i thought it was gunna be but we still had fun. we went and sat on the beach just to say that we had, then decided to get some fish and chips, which were the nicest fish and chips i think ive ever tasted. haha the seagulls knew they were good too and hundreds swarmed round us landing on the table and round our feet. then we saw a disabled seagull who had no feet just two stumps, was pretty funny. then becky went to the bin and me and chris decided to throw chips at her so the birds would swarm her and just as planned they did! i was actually crying with laughter at her screaming and flapping to get them away was hilarious.
all for now more soon xxx
