Even after a long day at Disney we didn't waste any time sleeping in and woke up bright and early to go to VERSAILLES! Originally we a had a tour booked that picked us up and tok us there but were were emailed a few days prior that because the Tour De France would be in the area, all roads leading to Versailles would be blocked. We didn't let this stop us though and expertly navigated our way through the parisian metro and train system to get to Versailles. Even though we knew the Tour de France would be in the are we didn't realize just how huge it was going to be! There were tents of merchandise and free things everywhere, as well as fans baricaded cheeing on their favorite teams! It was awesome!
We then set off with our new tour we found to see the palace of versailles! Breathtaking does not begin to describe! It was lavish and grandiose and beautiful and wonderful! We even had access to the Royal Gardens and took several beautiful pictures! Everyone must go to Versailles and experience it first hand!
We hopped back on the train and metro en route to Paris, where we came to discover the end of the Tour de France was (on the champs de elysees)! Here there was even more of a set up, it was craziness! We couldn't believe we just casually stumbled upon the Tour De France, one of the biggest sporting events in the world! It was ridiculous! But also SO COOL! I got jerseys, shirts, hats, bandanas, and all sorts of other fun paraphrenalia from the day!
After grabbing one last croque monsieur and wandering through tour de france festivities, we headed to the love lock bridge and all locked a lock on it with a note, then tthrew the key into the seine. it was great!
We headed back to our hotel to get out luggage and head to the airport, and all of us were so sad that our time in paris had come to an end :(
