Hello people:)Now i have finally arrived in Brisbane
Every day is a new adventure:)
The climate here is a little bit different from Norway's. its is really sunny, warm and everything, during the day! Then the clock turns 1800 and everything gets pitch black! really really dark! i had forgotten that it was only back home it was that sunny all evening:P
I really enjoy my appartment so far, it has carpet floors, at least my room, i also got a heather(didn't quite understand why to begin with, after the first night i realised why:P the houses here are really badly isolated so after the sun has dissepeared it gets really cold(like 10 degrees celsius, and its almost just as cold inside:S so im glad i have some warm clothes and i'll try and install the heather today:) My appartment also have a veranda and barbecues outside etc...very nice:)
Today i went down to explore some of Brisbane city and i discovered they have Target here and Subway and all sorts of american stores and found a couple of ralph lauren shirts on sale:):D I also found a power cord for my computer with Australian connection:D On Target we heard some other norwegians talking and i think they realised that we where also norwegian seeing we understood what they where saying:P
The other thing with the houses here is that when they are not as isolated as im used to, everybody can hear everything, we can hear the neighbours fighting, like it is right next to us, weird!
Today i woke up by someone cutting the grass outside and i tought it was in my room because i could hear him so clearly..
I have also desperatly tried to locate some crisp bread or some coarse bread(grovbrød) that seems rather impossible:S, so i guess i can survive with cereal or something for breakfast. Now I have also managed to get me an Australian cellphone:) My number is 0411778857 if you are calling from outside Australia i guess you need to put +61 infront of the number;)
The wild life here is also very different there this weird bird everywhere:S which i have never seen before.
I live like 5-10 minutes outside the city by bus, in a place called Klevin Grove, and this city is build up on hills, its weird, especially around kelvin grove, you would think they could even out some but no! very steep hills everywhere and its very up and down!
My roomates are really nice:) i share an appartment with one from Venezuela, two from switzerland, one from Germany and one from France:)
But in my head Australia seems like a place where everything exists there is alot of american stores etc here, lot of KFC, Footlocker, Subway, etc, they also have Norwegian food, today we found Jarlsberg:P
Campus here is enormous i almost got lost in one of the campuses at school today:S, but i guess 40000 students takes up room:) but it seems like a big and great campus:), apparently they have a gym there which i can't wait to join, but apparently you have to pay something, which i think is outrageous when i pay a tuition that high, but apparently its not that expencive, so i guess it will be fine:)
I also managed to get trough the days without any jet lag:D:D which is really nice:) i have no idea if it will stick but hopefully im on the right timezone:)
Now i have to go and get something done, but i will update as often as i can, and put out pictures:)
until next time:)
