Day 6 Another early start to catch the boat from sorrento harbour to the island of Capri. A wavy ride over!! :S very picturesque place as you come into it. When you get off the boat, you then have a choice of getting to Capri centre either by bus/posh taxi/mountainside train/walk. We chose bus as it was right in front of us. Lie in this morning, needed it, not much sleep last night due to big thunderstorm and very heavy rain :/ sorrento looks pretty grey today however, after breakfast we had a brief wander about the place then decided to hop on the open top bus that goes through sorrento and on to the surrounding hilltop villages. Day 4 (A'Lhora ;P) Guided tour along the amalfi coast today, so pretty, all along the cliffs. Through the towns built into the sides of the rocks. Passed above the town of Possitano, bus too big to fit down the side streets as they mostly consist of very narrow passages or staircases! The average house in Possitano has 75 steps in it as they're built on hills. On top of that, walking up to the top of the cliffs involved 1 hour and 30 mins of walking up steps!!...

Day 3 Off to Pompeii :D have wanted to see Pompeii for so long and was not disappointed! Took the train across, morning entertainment provided by four piece band playing throughout the carriages while waiting for the train to depart - accordion, saxophone and double base... Carried onto the train and then off again when finished!! Average day on the overground :P Some mountain tunnels later and finally at Pompeii, walked miles, saw all ruins, temples, theatres...

Day 2 Sun's out!! Down to the riviera hotel to sunbathe, bikini on, officially on holiday now! Always forget we're above sea level... Quite a bit above sea level, stunning views over the marina and across to Vesuvius though. Volcano is smoking today also! Very lazy day, well deserved, spent the morning lying on deck chairs, reading then had lunch. Afternoon, me and dad took the lift down to the decking below.
