The sun finally came out today - with a vengeance, and very little shade on Camino in this stretch. But was bound and determined to make it all the way to Ponte de Lima.
Left Tamal at 8am and arrived in Ponte de Lima at 6pm. The rough terrain and need for breaks in the shade sure slowed me down. Fitbit shows over 20 miles traveled today. But I made it!! (Sooo happy to see the 1 km sign!). Oh, and a wonderful Portuguese gentleman who stopped from his bike ride to give me a kiss on the cheek towards the end (I must have looked tired!?). I took a selfie with him - his first!!
This Auberge was great. 5 euro (as most are) and a million dollar view. Ended up by my friends from Tamal (and a new add - Bruno from Portugal) - we enjoyed our $7 pilgrim special dinner (huge soup, huge entree, carafe of wine, salad, dessert and coffee!!). Love it.
So many great people at Auberge. Seems many places have a guitar, and someone usually picks it up, which is fun.
This town is so pretty, I'm going to take another day to explore tomorrow, then continue the Camino the following day.
P.s. For some reason, the "bubba" post did not have all pix first time it was published. Should have them now.
Stats:
Start: Tamal, Portugal
End: Ponte de Lima, Portugal
20.38 miles
48076 steps
Blisters - 0!!! (Need to buy stock in moleskin!)
