Today we went to see another of the apparently must do things in Bangkok - the huge Chatuchak weekend market, all 35 acres of it! I'm not joking, it's huge, at one point we got a little bit lost. I was reminded of that episode of Father Ted and the department store!! They have a few main streets selling everything from clothes to furniture and off these streets are lots of other alleyways selling absolutely everything you can think of (even little puppies and bunny rabbits, some wearing clothes). We spent the best part of 2.5hrs wandering around, eyeing up the christmas gifts, a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of it all. We actually managed to come away empty handed (apart from Sam who got a washbag, and Fran who almost got a puppy as a group mascot!) However we all plan on heading back there the next time we are passing through Bangkok, I reckon in 3mths I'll need a new wardrobe.
We caught the train back to Hue Lamphong so that we could walk for a little while back to the hostel, not realising it would take us the best part of 90minutes. Not such a good idea when it's over 32degrees and extremely humid. We are currently trying and failing miserably to cool down. It's times like this a little rain would be a welcome sight. Especially when we are all a little pink (some more than others!) from the sun today!!
Not sure what tonight will entail, probably more pad thai and Chang. However it can't be a late one as we are off to the tiger temple tomorrow so see, yup you guessed it, tigers!!

Jenny That market sounds like my kind of place although I think Mark would shout at me if I came home with a puppy! Glad to hear you're having a great time!!
