On tues we spent our last morning in Bangkok, as we had a flight booked to Cambodia in the afternoon. Since we needed US dollars to pay for the visa's, we took a trip to the local bank. All was fine, until on leaving the bank I walked straight into a glass door which resulted in hysterics from Fran & Sam. Despite my mild concussion I managed to soldier on and Fran & Sam eventually managed to compose themselves and the tears soon stopped (theirs not mine!!).
The flight to Phnom Penh was uneventful and over before we knew it. It did mean that we all got a new visa in our passports. Fran was most excited because it meant she was on country number 20 (will take a while before she beats my 40 something).
We got a taxi to our hostel and upon arrival was greeted by a crazy cambodia women Tina who insisted on us having a drink at the rooftop bar later on. Following checkin we took a walk and ended up in a very local place for dinner, so local I don't think they'd had many tourists eating there before. They didn't speak a word of English and having just arrived our Cambodian was non existent. Still, with the help of pointing, we managed to order our food and we were all pleasantly surprised with our first introduction to Khmer cuisine.
After dinner, we headed back to the hostel and had a few beers at the bar before heading to bed.
