Got the early bus to battambang, pick up at 7 bus didn't leave until 8 - Asia time
Bus ride took 4-5hrs, stopped for lunch but ate nothing
Poured with rain when we arrived, tuk tuk guy spotted me on bus as we arrived and chased the bus until we got off. As it was rained, agreed for him to take us to the royal hotel for free. Checked in, staff very friendly, tried to get us to go on tours, instead we went for a walk for lunch. Found a local place called white rose. Decided we would like to do cooking school the next day so popped into the smokin' pot to book for next day. Walked along the river for a bit, saw a lot of monks, was very hot so I went back and had a nap whilst Fran and Sam continued the walk, met a monk who showed them around a Wat in exchange for him practising his English.
In the evening we took a walk to the evening food stalls, very friendly guy made us eat with him and wanted us to be friend him on Facebook, took our picture.
As we were eating, witnessed a moto accident, crowds of people around victim, apparently he died.
Carefully walked back and went to sleep - triple room = best night sleep in two weeks!!
