We decided that since we had 2 days left on our Angkor pass we'd take a tuk tuk super early to watch sunrise over Angkor Wat. This meant a 04.30 wake up since we were being picked up at 5am. As we were leaving, our irish room mate was just walking in very drunk and very chatty from his night out, hilarious!!
Despite us being very sleepy, we definitely had no regrets about having to get up so early. The sunrise over the lake was phenomenal, managed to get some amazing photos as the sun came up, which showed the ever changing colours of the sky. As soon as the sun had risen we rushed into Angkor Wat to beat the crowds as we were told this is probably the best and least crowded time to visit. We were not disappointed! It definitely changed our opinion of the place.
We got the tuk tuk back to the hostel and went back to bed for a few hours before getting and going for breakfast along pub street. The rest of the afternoon was spent in and around the pool being children since it was pouring outside for most of the day.
In the evening we went to the night market for dinner and again had Amok. Following dinner we wandered around pub street and found a bar that was showing the rugby (Australia v. Argentina), we weren't going to stay but the heavens decided to open so we were forced to stay and have a beer until it calmed down, shame that!!!
We didn't stay out too late as we had a very early morning bus to catch to Battambang so we just played a bit of 80's trivial pursuit and Guess Who before going to bed!!
