We made it to Salzburg around 2 today. The house we're staying in was built sometimes in the 1500's and is older than the entire city of Charleston. The owner is a baron... we're in the presence of Austrian royalty. During lunch Dr. W informed us that a town nearby is responsible for the origin of 'Silent Night.' The organs in the church apparently went out during Christmas before midnight mass. And I think that song was composed to compensate?
We're thinking maybe skydiving above the alps?
Scratch that... bunjee jumping.
Fun fact: Menus will have beer such as Miller under a term that translates into "fart water" so when Americans order it they don't realize they're being made fun of. Good think we're above such things...
Fun fact 2: The monks have their own beer garden.
