Hi all,
Just a quick update and I apologise in advance for the awful spelling... no backspace on this comp unfortunately!!
So after last entry we went out for dinner, which I picked a meal that had chicken and garlic and cheese, I thought yeah great meal and turns out it was a bowl of melted cheese with chicken in it! Ugh!!!!!! Hard to pick good meals when the menu is in Spanish!
Then we stayed there, walked half hour in the morning with our packs (great fun ugh) to the bus terminal and eventually worked out our bus to Mendoza. The bus was great and huge and we got food and coffee and watched national treasure in Spanish ha-ha. 7 hours was ok.
Got here and had help from a local to get to hostel. About another half hour walk with packs but got here ok. Toilets suck but workers are great as speak English so organised a wine tour and our reception at Francesco. So Francesco is this AMAZING Italian restaurant here in Mendoza which Matt was nice enough to give us a full everything we want to order here!!
We got all dressed up and got a taxi and had dinner there which was
Seb:
Prawn and mushroom entrée
Rainbow trout
Triple mousse
Sweet wine
Coffee
Kirby:
Squid
Spaghetti with chilli olives etc
Chocolate log with berries
Malbec red wine
The meal was amazing and we stayed there so long! They even took us down to the wine cellar cos they knew we were tourists ha-ha. It was great though. We wanted to spend the entire budget matt gave us but didn't go close! Great night though and we went home SOOOO satisfied.
So today we got a wine tour all day through 3 wineries in the Mendoza region. They are known for their red wine and most especially malbec. It was amazing wine and after the three wineries where we saw how they make the wine etc we got all we can eat and drink yummmmmmmmmmmmm.
We met some great English couple on the tour who we are going to go out with tonight woo hoo our first night out really! Been too scared to venture out just the two of us.
Oh reminds me met some weird person on the tour who was trying to argue with me telling me I wasn't catholic cos I didn't go to church weekly and believe in the entire bible... Im like seriously..,. On a wine tour???!?!!!! Ha-ha ah well.
Ok so that's it I think so far. we'll get ready to go out soon and then tmz spend the day here eating steaks (apparently the food here is the best in south America) and then tmz night we get onto a bus to go to Iguazu falls. Look it up on Google earth if you don't know this! And we spend 36 hours on a bus there and then back. Should be the most amazing experience though!
Ok will be out of contact for a while cos 36 hours there and then a day there, and then 36 hours to Salta. So maybe 5 days out of action but speak to you all after that time!!!!!
