Hey all! So second blog!!

Starting from the plane ride - great plane and not too bad - 64 movies and more games and TV shows to watch so I was very entertained... time difference is still confusing me!! But only had two hours sleep on the plane... got off the plane and it was 3am in the morning Aussie time and 12pm midday in Chile which was confusing after so little sleep!

Me and sebba found a minivan to take us to the hostel... then the police stopped the minivan for about 15 minutes and we got scared and caught the bus instead which turned out much cheaper and less eventful!

Place we are staying is good - girls in our room are lovely and the lock Mel is fantastic!

We went out today and looked at downtown and all the sights and the Bella vista part of town which is the cultural place sorta which was good. Then we went in this cable car up the mountain and looked over Santiago... the city is AMAZING its soo huge. It's so smoggy here though that you can't see the edges of the city! Photos are amazing. Oh and from the top of this cable car was the Virgin Mary statue that you can see from the photo - its looking over the city. Meh - it was big... nothing exciting haha.

the city here is only about 1 and a half hours from the snow AND IM DYING NOT GOING... there is a tour going snowboarding daily but given we just got here and seb isn't a boarder we didn't think it was a good idea... but Im dying inside cos the city is on the edge of this amazing view of the Andes which is a beautiful view. It's just a huge line of incredible snow covered mountains... great from the top of the cable car which we went on today. Will post photos when I can,

Hmmm what else... the food here isn't too exciting - most of it is fried. Seb hates the sour Pisco which from the taste was like a lemon margarita with no sugar and just lemon juice haha. We have been buying from the super just cos it's cheap and we know we will like the food!

Oh we did have lunch today though at this place haha it was so funny. We got a set menu but we got to choose the main and a dessert. of course we didn't know Spanish for dessert so we ordered mains with only the faintest idea of what we were actually ordering, and then her tyring to explain to us that we had already bought the dessert and what did we want was very funny. our Spanish is ok and getting better but not sure how much we will learn cos most people know none so not sure how to improve when we cant translate at all what they are saying haha. Sooo glad we took the time though to learn some cos we can pick most of the stuff out.

On the way to Mendoza (Argentina) tomorrow via bus - just bought our tickets this arvo (14 hours behind you guys by the way) and that is a 7 hour train ride for 8000 pesos which isn't too bad - about $20 Aussie. we think we've seen all there is to see here mostly unless we go more out into the country so we're just gonna head to Mendoza which is a wine region so we should definitely have some fun there!

oh I tried to buy a prepaid sim too (in Spanish which was hilarious) but I think we worked out that it would be hard to put international roaming on it to go from Chile to Argentina to Peru to Bolivia etc etc so I don't think I will bother.

Oh and Im getting the most crazy amount of attention/stares/beeping of horns etc cos of my blond hair... ppl literally clap at me when I walk past - great achievement having blond hair hahahaha its a bit annoying but just try to ignore it - think the blond hair is a novelty. Anyway hopefully it's not like this out in the smaller places! Matt did milly have the same issue?!?!

Seb has her phone though so please don't call it (that would cost her money) but you can call if it's an emergency or sms her cos that doesn't cost her money. If you want me to check my email or anything just contact her. Otherwise I will try to get onto here when I can which might be every second or third day. Oh and matt should have the number from that sms I think - hopefully he kept it anyway! Let me know if not.
