ADELAIDE!!!!

12:30pm Ray the taxi driver. What a great guy; a hero of maxi-taxi luggage contortion. I felt a real connection with Ray. Had a good chat beside the cab while awaiting Brad's return from the bank.

"Bit overcast mate?" I said.

"Yep, bit of cloud around", Ray replied.

"Cooler than other days?" I said.

"Yep", Ray said.

"Suppose it's better than those really hot days?" I quipped.

"Yep, pretty hot last week", Ray said, tension and mystery filling the air.

"Yes, I noticed on the news it was hot here last week."

Feeling the conversion had reached a natural end, I suddenly and randomly blurted out, "It my rain today!?"

With interest, Ray skilfully replied, "Yes, they are forecasting rain."

Feeling now that big Ray is teasing me with his eloquence, I asked the obvious question, "So they have forecast rain then?"

Ray paused and then replied, "Yes mate, they are forecasting rain."

Trying to stay in the moment I was going to ask the same question again but alas old man fate reared its head and stole the moment away. "I just need to move the taxi mate".

As if the world stopped, our kindred spirits gulfed, I stammered, "Ok Ray".
