Class drive along the coast to Hoat Bay. Beaches everywhere similar to Sydney but even better I reckon.. The bay was full of seals and crazy fishermen who kept coming into the port to sell fish to the locals- intense haggling going on as the seals played beside the boats. Was kind of pointless going on the boat trip but I paid for a ticket so may as well check it out. I'm expecting to see a few thousand of this smelly fellas (seals not fishermen..) I presume.
There was a film crew from Brazil and a family from Korea on the boat so not a lick of English spoken thankfully- my English words don't come cheap these days..Over the past fortnight or so, I have come to learn they there is normal time and African time, so the boat was twenty minutes late as is the norm here it seems. You wouldn't want to be in a rush anywhere in this country, luckily I am not and don't expect to be..
The boat ride was like something out of The Deadliest Catch..massive waves and howling winds. It was funny watching the film crew trying to record the presenter with the seals in the background as the boat swayed all over the place. As expected it was just a few huge rocks with hundreds of seals just lying there doing nothing, should have brought a rubber ball..
Back onshore now with an hour to burn before meeting the cousin so a snakey beer by the beachside is in order.
