I just noticed that my post for the shark dive was never saved so now I must rewrite it, hopefully I remember what I wrote.. My memory is terrible..I 'll just summarize it..
Two hour bus journey to Gansbaai, nice lunch before boarding boat. Nineteen of us from all across the world..Canadian who had friends from Tralee( John Delanys daughters), couple of funny Aussies and a freaked out English couple were the standouts...
Lots and lots and lots of sharks, every few minutes- absolutely mental, tuna heads as bait, that were dragged in next to the cage once the shark sniffed it... Visibility under water wasn't great( two meters) so didn't see shark until last second.. Indescribable experience to be honest...also saw a fully grown bull ray that came right up to the boat- massive fella.. The sharks we saw were between three and four meters weighing about eight hundred kilos... Fatties!
After a day I can't really describe fully, I got back to the lodge at 7pm and we had a big spur of the moment session here, eight of us squashed into a hatchback at one stage was one of my only memories...all is blurry and the wallet is much lighter...but now it's time to hike( or more than likely take a cable car)up Table Mountain...
