Had a bit of a sleep in today in Melbourne - we don't really have a great deal more to do in Melbourne so we were able to take it easy for the next few days. We walked into the city and got our underwater camera developed from Great Barrier Reef, The photos came out really well surprisingly and there was good visibility under water. We paid about 16 dollars to get photos put onto CD. I think the days of printing photos are nearly gone!
We hopped on the free tourist tram (excellent idea which the locals also avail of..) and went to docklands shopping center. To be honest there wasnt a great deal down there, in terms of clothes or people so we had a quick walk around before hopping back on tram. We did buy a 16Gb memory stick for all our pics for 30 dollars (was initially 39!).
We took our time getting back to apartment before getting read for tram restaurant night. Sinead and David are taking tomorrow off work so we can all head to Penguin Island to see the little penguins come out of water to sleep in coves at night. Looking forward to that!
The tram kicked off at 8.30pm - basically for 120 bucks, you get a 5 course meal, a trip around Melbourne at night and wait for it...all you can drink. The food was absolutly delicious, i started off with sparkling wine, moved to white wine, then onto rum and coke. We had a waiter, maitre d and a chef onboard helping, oh and a driver of course!!! David was "on the dry" which lasted until he sat down on his seat in the tram and decided to have one glass of wine - technically he had 1 glass but he refilled about 15 times during the night.
We left/stumbled off tram shortly before 11.30pm and headed to the Casino where we lost a bit! We had a great night, everyone was a bit stuffed but glad we did the tram dinner!
