Guess what...another lie in today!!! Not sure how I'll deal with work on 15th August! We fly back on Saturday 13th and I'm back on the Monday, Carol had about 2 weeks off before going back. Teachers eh?!
Our first port of call was due to be the Eureka tower in Melbourne central.
It's the tallest building observatory in the southern hemisphere (thanks Sinéad). It has a glass feature called skydeck 88 where you step into a part of the floor which extends out of building to give amazing views up, down and around Melbourne! The weather deteriorated when we got nearer so we decided to give it a miss and wait until the weather clears up.
So off we went to the aquarium, student IDs in hand ;-) it was like trying to get into clubs back in Cork using a fake ID again! But this time we were a bit luckier! The guy at the till didn't really give a s***, so in we went! The aquarium itself has some great stuff, penguins, sharks etc but the place was to the rafters with bloody kids. School was out it seemed! Annoying little brats. We flew through the sights of the aquarium so we could get out as quick as possible, other than the 26 million kids, it was a cool place.
We headed for some lunch, twas my choice today..any guesses??? McDs of course! After lunch and because of weather, we decided to visit one of the outlet centres on the river to see what was on offer. Some very cool shops, including UGG (Carol happy) and Abercrombie/Holister (Ken happy). We had a feeling we would do damage here in a few weeks!
Had some lovely BBQ fajitas for dinner (Don't think these are available in Ireland but they were gorgeous, I shall be writing a letter to Ol del Pasa when I get home!).
Chilled out in the evening watching the final state of origin rugby game with David (Queensland v new south Wales) while the girls skyped their mother). Hopefully nicer weather tomorrow for a more productive day! Think we got plans to go on beer tomorrow night while the ladies catch up on Harry Potter before the release of the new (and final film, thank christ) next week - I think the lads may going on beer that night also...ah well, someones gotta do it right?
