Once again we woke up in time for breakfast by our lovely hotel staff. I don't think I mentioned that we were the only ones in this hotel, so it was wonderful! The owner rang the ATV company and a man came to pick us up. The owner was so so sweet and told the man to take care of us and give us a deal because we are beautiful American girls! It might sound a bit creepy, but it really wasn't!
So we rent out our vehicles and we were off! Well, then we stopped for gas. With nothing but a small map and the desire to see everything we could, we were off. (Corny right? But so so true.) We started out by hitting the capital of Santorini, Fira which is near the center and sits facing the caldera. I took entirely too many pictures while Erika was driving, but rather too many than too few right? We parked our babies and we went off to discover the town. It was hot, very hot. We just explored the different shops and wandered down the streets for a bit. We also got gelato because it can't be turned down when it's offered.
After that we headed south to see a beach and a lighthouse we were advised to see. I kind of made Erika pull off at an opening on the side of the road so we could take pictures. Oh my gosh, it was so incredibly gorgeous. I wish pictures or videos did justice for it. It has to be the most beautiful place I have ever been.
Our next stop was Red Beach. At first it looked just like the rest of what we had seen, but we walked up a hill and around the corner we were able to look down at a spectacular sight. Still, I can't describe it in words, nor can pictures. Just go. We spent some time there and then got back on our ATVs with the destination of the lighthouse! We thought we were going the wrong way but not too far in the distance we could see it! I think we expected it to be a bit more large and exciting, but it fit the area well. We walked around and had to climb over rocks and such. I should have mentioned long long ago that Louise almost bites the dust about every 20-25 minutes so we had to be careful around her. We spent a fair amount of time there and then headed back to our hotel.
We all took some time to soak it all in. It was rather tiring driving and exploring. We really just needed rest. The lady at the ATV place also suggested to try out a resturant not too far from where we stayed. I took the reins on this one and drove Erika this time! It was close, right along a harbor, and DELICIOUS!! Well, after the shrimp with the face still on it, I was pretty much relieved to have anything else. We were also given free dessert. I have no idea what it was called or what it was supposed to be, but it was a square cut into two triangles. It was sort of moist and sticky...and tasted like burnt popcorn. Now, I didn't want to be rude so I ate it all and just acted like it was okay. Kelsie ate half and put the other into a napkin. I tired to tell her to pitch it over into the harbor, but she wouldn't! After that, we were given a free shot of some type of wine. It tasted like really sweet raisins! It was so good! They love Americans!
After that we drove back (I ran over a snake, sorrynotsorry) and we sat outside on the balcony and just talked about whatever came up! It was a great end to a wonderful day!

Sister Remember one time during Lent, Mom and Dad took us to this weird restaurant. I got shrimp because it was Friday, and it still had the tails on it but the rest of it was flat as a pancake. I couldn't eat it either.
