We headed to the Casa Loma building today and stumbled across more shops, resaurants, museums and galleries. I love just walking around exploring and finding new things!
We had no idea what the Casa Loma was about, but the architect looked stunning in leaflets/guide books, so we were walking into it blind so to speak. I'm so glad that we took a visit, as it turns out that it was purposely built for a house - based upon the idea of a castle ontop of a hill by a well established man who lived in Toronto (not sure how long ago), who bought electric lighting to the streets of Canada amoung many other things. He was also high ranking in the Canadian Army - which I found really interesting!
The castle like building was just amazing and the gardens were beautiful to walk around! Inside was equally beautiful - it was like walking through a stately home. What made it for me was that the entire third floor contained mainly World War One and Two artifacts - I was in my element!
I was in awe of the brick work of the building - I just loved everything about it! To sum up I had a lovely day and looking forward to the rest of my time in Toronto! Pictures will hopefully follow shortly - just having problems uploading at the moment.
