Well, we've made it to Toronto! My God, what an awful journey; I can't describe just how long it was just sitting there doing nothing! I couldn't read nor write as I'd start to feel travel sick, I had to limit my time with my I-pod due to battery life, we were both constantly on edge with the people getting on the coach and I'd get bored after a while playing games. To make it worse, everyone we had spoken to previously about the journey from West to East had said not to do it by coach and they were right!...As there was no scenery worth seeing what so ever - it was purely just the Prairies - flat grassland! We had to laugh a few times, as there were plenty of motels along the way - the one's you'd avoid - and everyone looked as entising as the ones you've seen in horror films! Suprisingly not one was fully booked, as they were all advertising a vacancy!
We had a few stops offs and bus changes, some stops were 10-20minutes, then some were 30-60minutes for food. We also had an hour to an hour and a half wait at some depots for transfers or fuel and servicing.
Before being told not to stop off anywhere in central Canada, me and Amy had originally mapped out a plan to stop off at Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and Thunder Bay and my god I'm so glad we didn't! When I say there was nothing there at each place, there really wasn't! Not even tumble weed would bother to roll past! Apart from the odd broken down car, these places were definately not worth stopping for!
I wouldn't recommend anyone to travel across Canada by land!
