Hey everyone,
Thought it was time for a bit of an update. I started at Toni and Guy last week and only worked for 2 days doing a 3 hour shift each time. Was supposed to be shadowing the receptionist but ended up doing the job after an hour. Was really hard because I had to book people in for appointments when I hadnt been trained on the computer system. I tried my best though and felt really stressed because the receptionist kept leaving me and I couldn'get into the computer system without her fingerprint!!!!Some people there were lovely but some were really horrible people that grunted and spoke to me like dirt. The boss was so unorganised that she text me at half nine at night to tell me when I was next in! Wasn't very impressed as I thought it would be a very professional place due to being a big named, well known company! Boy was I wrong. Anyway, my boss was going to phone me to arrange hours for the next week and I waited for five days to hear from her. So I text her telling her I was really disappointed with the communication and that I wouldn't be needing the job anymore. Got a really nice apology the next day but too late! I'm here to chill out and have fun and they were just messing me around.
So.... I had an interview for another salon the other day and I got the job and start there on Friday. Hopefully it will be better with nicer people. It seems nice but then so did Toni and Guy!The plan was to stay here for 6 months but we are getting itchy feet already. At the moment our thinking is that we will work for about three weeks and then we are off again. Planning on going on a road trip. Gonna hire a campervan and travel from Perth to Cairns - it's a long long way but means we can see lots of wee places on the way. How exciting. Then we might settle in or around Cairns for a bit, don't really know. I want to settle somewhere right on the beach with a really chilled lifestyle so will just see what happens. The campervan thing is ace. The company pay you to take it on a one way trip. Instead of them hiring people to transport the campervans over australia for other people to use, they pay us to do it - how fab! Will keep you posted..........
