Another early start and a quick bus journey to Kaikoura. The weather was unreal - absolutely pouring with rain!!!!!

We stopped at a seal colony and managed to get dead close to the seals. They were so cute. Most of them were right up on the grass hiding in bushes away from the bad weather!

We were dropped off at our hostel and it was gorgeous. It was just a tiny little hostel and was so cosy! We had a 4 bed dorm to ourselves - wicked!!!! So we decided we would take advantage of the space and have a wee party. Kaikoura was a tiny place and there wasn't much to do anyway. We did walk into the town but it was dead because the weather was so bad.

We had music, wine, cheese rolls and crisps - perfect! We had such a good laugh and it ended up being a late night!

The next day it was an early start as we were leaving the south island and heading to Wellington in the north island. (Kaikoura was just a stop off for us).
