Kylie Caramihalis's Travels
On December 7th, I left my hotel to go to the Monteverde Cloud Forest located in Monteverde, Costa Rica. This was probably my favorite part. Cloud forests are incredibly rare, so this is something you must do. Also, this rainforest is on top of the continental divide, so you can be on both the Pacific and Caribbean side. The clouds hovered over the upper canopy of the forest, condensing on leaves, and dripping onto the many plants. There are more than 100 species of mammals live in the cloud forests as well as 400 species of birds and thousands of insect species. Later that day I went zip lining, seeing many species. I saw howler and capuchin monkeys, all five species of cats, deer, tapir and sloths. It was quite an experience.
