Hello Everyone! It sure is nice to be back in a country that speaks English, let me tell you. As exciting as it is to be trying to communicate with people who have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, its nice to be able to say "I'll just have a pint of Stella, Thanks" And they know exactly what you are talking about. Megan and I landed back in London and headed out on the train to the city to find our Hostel. Didn't take too long to find Bestplace Hostel, right above the Green Man Pub. We were welcomed by Craig who took one look at us and gave us a big coffee each, and then fed us. We got our room (which we have together this time) and went downstairs to The Green Man where we ate some more (very delicious and affordable food) and met three Australians, Rob and James from Perth and Patrick from Adelaide. I think it was love at first sight really, we all got along so well. So the five of us settled in for a bit of an evening as we were still really tired from all the walking in Paris and wanted to have a bit of a relaxing day.
The night rolled on and happy hour arrived, where we actually have reasonably priced beer (better value than at home really) and had a grand old time. Nothing that exciting happened, just cured some homesickness by hanging out with those who truly understood us.
Next morning we are up and I am ready to hit London! We do it all this morning, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, one of the museums. I was exhausted! All were great except for Buckingham palace, which im sorry but it isnt spectacular at all. We spent a vast majority of the morning debating the BFG and how tall he really must be, in relation to the palace.
We found a man who was talking to pidgeons, and watched some squirrels frolicking in Hyde Park. We were then pretty exhausted and headed back to the Green Man for a big night with the Australians again.
We spent the next few days wandering around and going to museums, looking at the tower of london bridge, going out on the town to a really radical bar that... well ill put up a few of the pictures. My favourite meal at the moment is chips with mushy peas, with a bit of mayo on the side. There is also the worlds best club sandwhich at our Green Man, for only £2.70 so its a real bargain and a winner. Might go back and have one for lunch right now come to think of it. Kala is coming up to join us tonight and we are going to the Camden markets tomorrow, which are supposed to be pretty exciting.
I've been thinking about you all, and feeling a fair bit homesick at times especially when I hear that Australian accent! Be safe, please write and have a great old time.
