Tonight we toured Mary Kings Close. A close is a street or alley between buildings. The many closes in Edinburgh were built on top of in the last two hundred years. There are many ghost stories and tragedies associated with this close. Countless people died in there of the pneumonic and bubonic plagues including a young girl named Annie. She is said to still haunt the bedroom in which she was locked before she died. Also Mr. Chesney lived here in the late nineteenth century and there are numerous reports of poltergeist activity in his property.
