Today we had a pretty big sleep in until 11am. We felt we deserved it though because we had a long day yesterday.
When we woke up it was fairly rainy and I was nervous it was going to be a cold day. I didn't have much choice of warm clothing though so I threw on my cat dress and was ready to brave the cold.
We walked into town and decided to have lunch at a place called Flame. We had burgers but we were both pretty disappointed with them. My patty was just a touch too undercooked and tasted a bit metal tasting.
We did a bit of browsing around the stores and then headed over to the gondola and rode up to get views of Queenstown.
We had a coffee/tea in the cafe and enjoyed views over Queenstown and also made good use of the free wifi!
We also rode on a luge ride at the top of the hill. I was quite a scaredy cat though and didn't really like going fast. It was fun though.
After we took the gondola back down the mountains we just browsed around a bit more, booked a helicopter tour for New Year's Day and then at 6pm we went to see "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" at the movies. The cinema was really small and cute and I liked the movie.
For dinner we went to a pub type place where I had some delicious chickpea chilli with polenta chips. Quite yum. We also decided that the pub next door might be a good place for New Years tomorrow night.
We are back at the hotel now ready for an early night for river sledging tomorrow morning. I am quite nervous! Hopefully it's fun.
