Merry Christmas!
We had a superb day! We awoke at around 8am and showered and dressed. Unfortunately this hostel does not have a breakfast service so we ventured out straight away to head to the amusement park and hopefully find some food on the walk to the station.
When we got to the station we ended up having a small breakfast of maple scrolls and caramel cappuccino before hopping on the train.
The theme park, Fuji-Q Highland, was only one stop away so it was only a short journey. When we arrived we walked straight into the park and bought our open admission tickets so that we could ride everything!
The park is famous for having four very unique and good roller coasters so we made sure we went on all of them and pretty much every other ride in the place as well. Of the four main roller coasters it's hard to pick a favourite because they were all so different in their own way. There was a long one, Fujiyama, that had a really long drop. Then the super fast one that got to 170km/hr in 1.8 seconds that was so unbelievably fast it was amazing. Eejanaika was a 4D one where the individual seats spun 360 degrees as the coaster was going which was insanely fun. And then the last one had the steepest free fall when it first opened and also had amazing views of Fuji when you were at the top of the climb. All really fun. Another stand out ride wasn't really a ride at all, it was the Haunted Hospital which was basically a haunted house. You had to walk through 700m of haunted house where it was decked out like a zombie movie and every so often there'd be a staff member dressed up as a zombie jumping out at you and even chasing you at times. It was scary as s***. But so fun. I don't think I've ever run so fast from a fake zombie.
We stayed right until closing time, 6pm, when the sun was down and it was getting super cold. We caught the train back and stopped for ramen for dinner on the way.
When we got back to the hostel we hung out in the common room for a bit to see if we could meet up with the guys from last night to organise the bike ride for tomorrow. But nobody came down. So tomorrow we will still go riding just not at 6am like the others were wanting to.
Now time to shower and sleep.
Merry Christmas to all!
