Today we left our Hiroshima home and moved to Beppu. Before leaving Hiroshima we made a quick trip to the local baseball stadium so that Shannon could buy a shirt for the local baseball team, the Hiroshima Toyo Carps.
We then speed by train to Beppu and once we arrived we found our awesome guesthouse, Happy Neko! The owner greeted us at the door and showed us to our apartment. We have a whole floor to ourselves! There are two huge living areas, a closed in balcony surrounding the rooms and our own bathroom. Well it's really only a toilet and wash basin. There is no bathing facility as there are heaps of onsens nearby to use. The owner gave us a run down of the local area and recommended some good onsens to try.
After settling in we headed out for a bit of a stroll and then some lunch. We are going to go to an onsen tonight that has private rooms so we scoped out where that was located so we would know how to find it later.
We are chilling in our massive apartment now waiting until 9pm before heading out to the onsen. The onsen doesn't close until 1am and is apparently busy until later on in the night which is why we are waiting.
Tomorrow we have big plans to try some more onsens and also see the seven hells, seven different hot springs which you can't swim in but look cool for various reasons.
