Finally we arrived at our mecca. A place where every Brit who has sat religiously at 1.40pm everyday eating beans on toast should make a pilgrimage to in their lifetime - Ramsey Street.
The Neighbours tour exceeded all expectations because aside from seeing Grease Monkeys and the actual street, who should be there but my personal favourite, Dr. Karl Kennedy. What a charming man. Everyone was very coy getting pictures and autographs, however, I couldn't help myself - I asked him to dedicate a song to me and Leah at his gig the following week.
Gig night came. Last song. Queen Medoly. It's now or never. And I quote, Alan Fletcher, aka Dr K:
"I would just like to dedicate the last song to two gorgeous girls I met on the Neighbours tour this week. Leah and Katherine."
This was the single most bestest moment of my life, captured, allbeit illegally, on film.
Also on Neighbours night we got to meet Steph, Toadie and Boyd. Pulled a classic on Boyd. I offered my cheek for him to kiss and as he leans in, with a swift but precise movement, I plant a smacker on the lips. He was so impressed that he high 5'ed me.
So following all the Neighbours excitement, we also saw the Round the Twist lighthouse, fed kangaroos and saw wild koala bears. We also went on a tour of the Great Ocean Road, a stunnig coast line and to Phillip Island which is famours for the penguin parade; 30cm penguins waddle out of the sea everynight to their sand dunes, all very cute.
So from Melbourne we venture to Adelaide, described as a huge retirement village, however, I'm guessing we'll find some kind of entertainment there. We usually do.
Hope to hear from you all soon, Katherine xxx
