I would like to begin with an apology. My keeping up to date with the blog have not been great I know, and its not that I havent found the time its just I honestly have been thinking how to word the things that have happened in Queenstown to date. So, sorry. The main thing I would like everyone to know that me and Chris are ok. We have made some very difficult decisions but now take our travels on different paths but in very amicable ways. I love Chris always and wish him all the best on his amazing trip. We are always in touch and care about each other very much. We have met some great people who have supported us through everything thats happened, lifelong friends. Deep breath, ok, now thats been said I'll move on to real travel talk and life here in Queenstown. I no longer work up at Coronet Peak Mountain as it is has closed and the ski season is officially over, am now pretty ok at skiing and an expert at washing ridiculous amounts of dishes, I guess thats the price you pay for getting a free ski pass. After finishing at Coronet Peak, felt like an escape from Queenstown was well and truly needed. So pack my great big backpack and head to Wanaka for a bit of a 'Finding Myself' mission. Back breaking backpack on and thumb out, I am actually leaving Queenstown and hitching myself to Wanaka. Never hitched before so feel a bit stupid and slightly concerned about what I am going to say if big burly truck driver stops and says 'Hop in Love'. But eventually, very nice lady in very posh 4x4 picks me up and is thankfully driving all the way to Wanaka. So, hour and a half later arrive (in style) outside of base backpackers. I strike up deal of doing some glass collecting in their bar downstairs in exchange for free accommodation. I walk, I read, I cook, I collect glasses and I keep myself to myself, perfect time to reflect and clear my head. It is extremely beautiful so find myself walking to the most beautiful place on earth (to date) most days and settle there for the afternoon with a good book. Laura (one of my best friends in Qtown) comes to visit me a week later for much wining and dining as you can do in Wanaka (it is very very quiet). A week later Roxy, Ellie and Jo visit me, they kidnap me and tell me I have done my 'alone' time and I was to come home. I go home with them that day to the bright lights of Queenstown. That night, Coronet Peak takes us on booze cruise and boozy mini golf to say thank you for all our hard work, mini golf does not go well and some injures are concurred!
Pete arrives, what a welcome sight he was. I took Pete to the Hilton , haha, know thats not exactly the most suited place for Pete but we had lovely posh drink there and he was very happy that he could say he had been in Paris Hilton.... We spent some lovely time together and it was amazing to be called bach, I have missed that. Chris and Pete leave Queenstown on their trip. I am now back at my old house in Park Street, working at a restaurant and sometimes at an art gallery. Plan on staying until maybe February.
I would like to also apologise for the lack of photos, I have hundreds to put up, but very stupidly forgot my camera today. They will be on here in next few days. Also just come back from road trip which I will write about next time. Miss you all as always. Lots of Love xxxxxxx
