Got up and went for breakfast at Select- we had a cheese omelette. Laszlo drove us out of town to a mineral water spring with a shelter where locals came to fill orange tinted bottles up. There were buildings and pools where people bathe. The water had the weirdest petrol smelling, fizzy, metallic taste. It's apparently good for you, though I'm not so sure! A very matted forlorn stray dog was hanging around. Despite his situation he seemed at ease with his back to us as if he'd given up on the human race and accepted his fate. We called him dreadlock dog.
We crunched back along the gravel path and explored a very damp, overgrown field that had massive cream coloured, stripy snails everywhere. Locals collected them up into plastic bags to eat.
We drove back to town where Laszlo gave us a presentation about AGORA and all they do for the community and what they stand for. There were some interesting photographs of past TCV visitors with one particularly relaxed curly haired kid usually seen draping on a tree!
Back to select for some more soup, pork and pickles. We went to a local coffe bar and played an intense 3 hour game of chess. Was my favourite game as Simon and I won!
On the walk back to the pension house I saw a monk slip into a plain looking church, as the door closed I could see a glimpse of a gold alter inside which was most intriguing.
Later on we attended a classical guitar concert in the town hall which is a very impressive building with tall stone pillars, a courtyard and rooms surrounding. After getting lost (and directed unknowlingly by the star of the show) we followed some stairs up to a balcony to watch the concert.
The guitarist was extremely talented, with amazing technical ability like I'd never seen before - I think Michael was impressed. We all indulged in some cheese and bread back at the pension house after this which was very tasty if not a little messy without the proper impliments.
