Karen Visits China
This was my first day at Xi'an High School no.8. I met Ms. Xiao's administrative team: 8 people for a school of 3000 students, grades 7-12 and toured a few classes. All of the classes I saw had at least 40 students, lined up in rows doing recitation exercises. I was able to talk to a few classes and addressed several of their questions. Two of the most interesting questions for me that day were:
"do you think American boys will like Chinese girls?" and " How important is happiness?"
We then met with the Beilin Education Bureau, this organization oversees all of the schools in the Beilin region, similar to an Oregon ESD.
I enjoyed a dinner out with a number of teachers and other administrators from the school.
