Woke up early this morning and 3 teachers from the school including the teacher I will be working with aswell as 2 local indigenous ladies took all 7 of us out in a big troupy (big white 4wd where the back seats like 12 people) to a place called crab creek.. and boy was it beautiful. It was so secluded and looked so untouched as if not many people at all had been there before, we went there to collect lots and lots of little shells because the indigenous ladies are going to make us all bracelets with them. I was in heaven such a beautiful place. We headed back sitting in the back of one of the teachers utes - so much fun! Spent the afternoon napping and relaxing followed up by a jog around the footy oval and hanging with some more kids - they love chris brown and jessica mauboy! and boy can these girls dance! they were teaching me how to shake my but all african girl style but kept laughing at me.. they also love taking selfies ! got some good snaps!
finished up the day going to some of the teachers and people working in the communities dinner around the camp fire.. Best night! Meeting some totally awesome, laid back and down to earth funny people. They are say f*$% alot and always say 'ay' at the end of everything.. we ate mud crab and some amazing fish i cant remember what its called but conner one of the boys is an amazing cook and whipped up some awesome spices.. actually there was about 10 girls and we were all sitting around the camp fire and there were about 6 guys all preparing and cooking the tea it was great! ... the guys house we were at was a massive bogan, his leading the sport and rec job in the town, only been here for 3 months and has made a woodfired oven type thing out the back of his house, a bar in the tree called the monkey bar.. hard to explain but his set it up really well!!
great day! :)
