The train journey from Darwin to Alice Springs was brilliant! It left Darwin late so we were late getting to Katherine which meant I couldn't do kayaking in Katherine gorge which I wanted to do. Instead me and a few people off the train went into the town. It was the most scary place I have ever been. The aboriginals there were a bit crazy! On the train there is a cafe, lounge area and then normal seats which fold back to nearly a bed. I meant a few people on the train. Some old ladys who were drunk on red wine! Luca from amsterdam, Eddie from England, Jamo from Germany and Olga from Germany. The journey went so quick. In the evening when everyone had gone to sleep me and Luca stayed up and watched a brilliant thunder and lightening storm. It was great except worrying, we were on the most metal train I have ever seen! The sunrise from the train window was also brilliant. The scenery had changed so much from North to Alice Springs. The train got in 9am and then bus took me to my hostel. Me and Luca checked out the museum and river that never has water in! During the eve we went to the street markets in town and for a drink at Bojangles pub.
