We woke to a beautiful sunrise. I was going to have a shower this morning as I always do when we stay on camp sites with shower facilities. I couldn't have one here though as there were no doors on the two shower cubicles! The facilities were in a portacabin and had two toilets thankfully with doors, two basins and at the far end two shower trays facing each other with about 60cm between them. There was no door and therefore absolutely no privacy! Who in the hell...

After brekky we hit the highway west towards the Western Australia border. Before we started out today we asked our trusty and friendly GPS, Mick, to tell us how far we now were from Perth. He informed us that we had 3666 kilometres to cover to get there and that if we drove non stop it would take us 38 hours and 58 minutes to get there! Still a hell of a way to go then. After waking up and noticing thankfully that we hadn't been eaten by the crocs we had our brekky. After this we hit the road. Kakadu National Park wasn't too far from here. We had been in two minds as to whether we Kakadid or Kakadidn't! We decided against Kakadu. It sounded like it was going to be much too touristy for us and possibly a lot like Litchfield National Park which simply hadn't done it for us. After brekky we left the Darwin Free Spirit Resort which should have more appropriately been called the Darwin Mind Controlled Sheep Resort! We had enjoyed visiting Darwin. It's a wonderful laid back albeit mad hot place but we were glad to get away from the caravan park. We went to Coles on the way out of the city to stock up. We got up late and had a very lazy morning. After lunch we went and got the bus into the city. Darwin isn't a massive city compared with other state capitals and has a population of only about 75,000. By going into Darwin I have now been to every state and territory capital in Australia.
