Monte Alban!! Today I woke early and decided I would go and visit the nearby ruins of Monte Alban. It was fairly easy to get out there with just a small price for a drop-off/pick-up service. I arrived at 8:30am just as site was opening and luckily without any huge tour groups I made my way around the ruins without the crowds. The site was huge taking 3 hours to wonder around at a leisurely pace. The highlight was surely Monte Albans position on the top of the mountain giving surreal panoramic views of Oaxaca and the surrounding villages. It would have been nice to have some more information about the site or even a guide but on the other hand walking around at my own pace was also good. The sky was clear and the sun was out and I was happy to be outside of the city. I got the 12 o'clock bus back to the city and then made my way straight to the market for the most exciting part of the day: lunch time!! I ended up walking around for nearlly an hour undecided for what I should get and in the end went for the Tlayuda (Oaxacan Pizza) at the same place I had brought it when I first arrived in Oaxaca. Once again it was delicious and I savored every mouthful of it. In the afternoon I booked my bus ticket on to Puebla (small colonial town North) and booked the tour to Mitla and the waterfalls for tommorow. In the evening I ate some chicken casserole thing that I am guessing had been sitting most of the day and straight away I felt my stomach grumble and groan. It wasn't long and I was on the toilet and spent most of the night running to and for with bouts of diarheea.
