Sightseeing Riga
Today I slept in a bit before battling the Latvian freezing temps.
First up I walked to the Riga markets which just so happen to be the biggest in Europe. Consisting of 5 gigantic pavilions housing a meat market, cheese market, fish market, vegetable market, bread market and numerous other goods. The size of the markets was overwhelming and with so many bargains I spent hours wondering, they have this really great rue bread here so I got some of that along with some Latvian biscuits. Next up was the fish market where I indulged in some smoked makeral and smoked makeral and cheese- the smoked fish is amazing here but did give me a bit of a belly ache. I could of stayed wondering for hours but it was time to go.
I spent the rest of the day wondering around the city staring and feeling like I was in Russia.
Riga is a beautiful city and very livable apart from the freezing cold.
