Today I had to be up early as ChuCho was kindly giving me a lift out to Rionegro to my hosts place. We left the house at about 7am and made an hour stop in a small town just outside of Medellin - I wondered around and killed an hour waiting. Next we headed out to Rionegro - ChuCho dropped me off I thanked him and said our goodbyes. My host Elizabeth had to go into the town for a few meetings so I joined her and whilst she was in her meetings I wondered around the city, checking out the old church and basically just people watching. The sun came out and it good very warm a typical occurrence in this part of Colombia. Elizabeth picked me up and we headed back for lunch and wow what a feast lunch was: Sopa de tortilla: a rich, spicy Mexican soup with tomato, onion, chicken and slices of salted tortilla and to add cheese, cream, pork crackling and avocado - and fresh guava juice. After lunch I had to take a nap as it had been a busy morning. In the afternoon I helped the family pick the guava from the trees and tonight I will make guava juice.
