Lastnight the other two teachers in my room came back very drunk at 3am and one of them spent an hour in the bathroom spewing up (not bad for professionals considering its a strictly no drinking camp). After he finally stopped spewing he went to bed in the bed underneath me; snoring so loud the room was shaking and by 4am even with ear plugs I couldn't take it and had to leave; taking my mattress outside and trying to sleep in the corridor. Unfortunately it was freezing cold outside and I couldn't sleep because of the cold but atleast I didn't need to listen to the god-awful snoring anymore. I got up and had breakfast at 8am which was some delicious school grown blackberries/blueberries and a bowl full of peanuts. It was freezing cold this morning so I borrowed myself a jacket and rugged up which all the kids thought was hilarious as it was hot weather for them. Today's task were to get the kids organized to film the National project which was a common play: Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs re-written and acted out in a satirical way. We made props in the morning and then had the kids try and rehearse their lines before going to lunch. Lunch was pasta today so the kitchen staff had made up another special lunch for me with a ginormous chicken breast, vegetable salad with ham and lettuce and a peach and syrup dessert. We had a long break and the sun was out at lunch so I decided to go for a nice walk. This turned out to be not so great an idea as afterwards I felt pretty drained and we had a huge afternoon ahead of us. The kids had to film the play after lunch and this ended up taking us right through into the night and trying to keep the kids motivated and on task proved incredibly difficult specially since we as teachers were also exhausted and over the whole thing. Just seems like far too much wasted time here and too much prime opportunity for kids being wasted. At dinner times the kids finally finished recording and we all headed over to the cafeteria for dinner which tonight was a big chunk of chicken, soup, coleslaw salad and for dessert fresh blackberries/blueberries and banana. Tonight was most of our last nights so we had organized one of the Chipean teachers to buy a bunch of food and drinks and we would have a bit of party tonight. Unfortunately we had to wait around to nearly 11pm before the night shift teachers had knocked off and by this time I was so tired and over it. I hung-out to about 12:30am and had a really interesting chat with Marcella; a young Chilean girl who had lived in Perth for 2 years. In the end there was about 12 of us teachers and everyone was starting to get a little drunk and the only speaking was in Spanish so I didn't feel bad for being the first to leave and go to bed.
