Bangkok – for the third time

So after I had recovered from the full moon party I made a decision to go to Bali instead of carrying on round Thailand. The plan was to return to Thailand and go down the East coast after about 10 days in Bali. Everyone I spoke to on Koh Phangnan said that the weather on the east coast was poor so it may not be worth going yet. Since the weather picks up moving towards November I decided that by the time I came back it would a better time to visit Koh Phi Phi, Krabi and Phuket and so it all made sense – at the time anyway. It was very easy to change my date and free! I checked out of my hotel and made the return journey to Bangkok, the same way, on the ferry and then the luxury bus with the movies.

I arrived in Bangkok at about 6 in the morning the next day and headed straight for the hotel I stayed in before. After a nap I decided to go shopping as Bangkok is so cheap I decided to take advantage of the fact. It was weird being back as it was all familiar and I knew my way around I enjoyed it the second third time round. Usually you arrive in Bangkok and can’t wait to leave but after being on the islands for a couple of weeks it was a nice change. I bought some clothes and toiletries and some speakers for my MP3 player. This was the only time I was ripped off cos after I had bought batteries for them, they still didn’t work! Oh well, they were only a couple of quid.

One of the best things about Bangkok are the food stalls so after pigging out I met up with Chris from home who was in Bangkok as he was getting married in a couple of days. It was nice to see someone from home and here a good old Bolton accent – I haven’t met anyone from Bolton yet. After a few beers off I went to bed for an early start the next day and a flight to Bali to catch…….
